So it's gotten even worse with the landlord I had thought that by bringing in the local housing authority it would help to stop with his threats of eviction. I am now receiving letters stating that the housing authority told him to proceed with eviction and I have a 3 day warning to respond. Natuarally this was put on my door this afternoon with a holiday coming up so I am unable to respond in said time limit. He lives out of state.
I dropped off a copy to the housing authority as he named a caseworker that had already told me he could not do this as the person who told him to proceed with the eviction.
I also went and talked with a lawyer who works specifically with tenat/landlord law in my area. I have some paper work to complete and have another appointment on wed I just want everyone to know LISTEN TO THE ADVICE OTHERS GIVE ON THIS WEBSITE I should have listened and done this to begin with!

It's gotten to the point when I called him after the letter to question whether he knows what he is doing that he now says I am not allowed to talk to anyone else in the building or even have anyone else (even non tenants) over to my apartment. I am supposedly not allowed to have anyone come over especially my partner. Not that I want them here right now but that's besides the point.
The lawyer has assured me he cannot do this. Personally I would rather just move at this point instead of staying here for the remainder of the lease. It's a ? I will be asking this wed but another part of me wants to force him to abide by the law and treat the damn place already. even if I move they will still be here for the next unaware tenant.
I am more than willing to just pitch what stuff I have and move on it has gotten to be much to stressful to be constantly threatened and told I am the one harrassing the other tenants because I dared mention to a neighbor about the bed bugs and his unwillingness to hire an exterminator. She called and also started complaining.
